Why Mal Pais

The area comprised in the southern tip of Nicoya Peninsula, both Mal Pais and Santa Teresa are among the natural beaches of Costa Rica. Development here has been slower and in a low rise fashion, contrary to what has happened in other countries, where overdevelopment has almost ruined the local economy, when tourists stopped coming because of the loosing scenery. Mal Pais and Santa Teresa have quiet a few hotels, but they are small hotels, with usually no more than 2  stories. The number of rooms per hotel ranges from  8 -  20 in most cases.

The area is a charming beach community, where surfing is the main highlight, but other eco activities are also abundant, such as horseback riding, atv tours, snorkeling and simple enjoy the local nature, its wildlife and the beauty of the beach, the sunsets and mountains.
